Cancelling Orders

As part of an online business you will more than likely come across an occasion where you will need to cancel an order. This guide will show you how

You will only ever be able to cancel an order if the customer has not yet paid for the product. If the customer has paid for their product then you will need to refund them - Please see the guide titled 'Refunds Guide'.

Cancelling an order 

Finding the Order

  • Log into your Shopify account 
  • Using the menu on the left hand side of your screen, select 'Orders' 
  • Select the order that you need to cancel 
  • The order must not display as paid, if it does then you will need to refund the customer.

Cancelling the Order

  • Now that you have selected the specific order you would like to cancel, the detailed page of the order will appear.
  • Select the button titled 'more actions' located at the top of the page.

Drop down menu

  • Now that you have selected 'more actions' a drop-down menu will appear where you can select 'cancel order'
  • Once you have selected 'cancel order' the order will be cancelled and the process is complete.
